How Much Does Bee Removal Cost in West Palm Beach, FL?

The first thing most people ask is what it costs. The answer comes down to whether we can reach the bees from outside the structure or whether a wall has to come open. Everything else moves the figure within one of those two bands.

Two price bands, and how you land in one

A colony we can reach from outside with little or no comb built up falls in the low band, $150 to $350. We work in a bee veil and protective suit and take the bees without opening anything.

When the colony is inside a wall and the only way to it is through the wall, a cut-out runs $400 to $1,200. We're opening a cavity, so the price covers material coming off and the opening being patched, not just the bees. The jump between bands is about access. The bees aren't any worse.

What moves the price within a band

In the low band, the figure follows how much comb is there. A small cluster with almost nothing built behind it sits at the bottom. More comb means more to cut out and clean up, and the price climbs toward the top of the band.

For a wall cut-out, where you land between $400 and $1,200 comes down to four things: how big the colony has grown, how far the comb runs into the cavity, what has to come off to reach it, and how large a hole is left to patch. A colony sitting near the edge of a cavity takes far less time than one built deep into a wall we have to open wide.

Describe the spot to us on the phone and we'll quote a likely range right then. We settle the final figure after we've looked at where the bees are and how we'd get to them.

When the cheaper job is the right one

If the bees are reachable from outside and there's little or no comb, the low-band removal is what you need, and we'll tell you so. We don't open a wall that doesn't need opening.

If a cavity does have to come open, we clear out the comb along with the bees. Leaving comb in a wall leaves the job unfinished.

Why time of day is part of the job

For an established colony we schedule early morning or late evening, when fewer foragers are away from the nest. Bees that are out working while we cut in are bees you'd still see around the house the next day. The timing is built into the price, not added on.

The receiving hive stays at your property until nightfall so returning foragers can join it. Then we secure it with ventilation for transport. On a late-day job, plan on the evening being taken up.

West Palm Beach is hot, with long cooling seasons. Working early or late also means we're doing careful work in a full suit instead of rushing through the heat of the day.

What we do before we call it finished

Once the bees are out, we remove the remaining nest material and scrape comb and propolis off the inside surfaces before temporarily patching the opening. The patch closes the hole. It isn't finished wall repair, and we say so up front so nobody expects drywall and paint inside the quoted price.

We can't always see from the outside how far the comb has been built. If opening the cavity turns up more comb than we planned for, we stop and talk it through with you before going any further.

Getting a number for your house

When you call, tell us where you're seeing the bees (wall, soffit, roofline, tree), roughly how long it's been going on, and when activity is heaviest. From that we can usually say which band your job falls in and what range to expect.

Then we come out, look at the actual access, and confirm the figure for your property. If it lands at the bottom of a band, we'll say so. If it lands at the top, we'll show you why.

What to Expect
